All 3 Assignments due: Friday, 4/24.
Greetings Students!
For the rest of the year we will be reading To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee. We will not be using the packet I created, and gave you on Wednesday, 3/11 but there is a lot of helpful information within. In particular, the Universal themes presented and a character list. All LA 9th grade students have to be assigned the same assignments. This novel is one of my all time favorite novels,I hope you get as much out of it as I have over the years.
Please read these instructions carefully: ALL assignments be turned into TURNITIN.com in the correct assignment.
- To try to make this easier I have split the work into three easy to access assignments.
- TKAM Chapters 1-3 Reading Questions (20 Points)
- TKAM Chapters 1-3 Commentary based on two quotes given. (20 points)
- TKAM #1-5 Vocabulary Sentences.(10 points)
3. We have 31 chapters to cover before the end of the year, it's really important you do not fall behind and do the weekly work.
4. Past due work from 4/6 must be emailed to me and cut and pasted in--nolinks please. Also please tell me what period you are in. Many of you did not turn in your vocabulary sentences.
5. Make sure you watch my video chats for each week, they will give you added insight into TKAM.
6. For 6 weeks, the assignments will be the same, one on Reading, one on Commentary and one on Vocabulary. Once we complete Chapter 16, we will begin our formal essay as we continue to read and finish TKAM. Prompt: How can words inspire change? Keep this in mind as you write your commentary over the next 6 weeks.Think about Atticus’ moral lessons he imparts to his children.
7. Tips for accessing the novel: Unfortunately, we can not provide all students with a hard copy of To Kill a Mockingbird due to the school facility closure. However, there are several methods you can use to access the novel. Students will be responsible for finding the best format that works for them.
