Each week after our vocabulary test, students are required to type 250 words in whatever genre they wish.
It can be fiction or non-fiction but it must be in a narrative style without any harvested text to support ideas.
Each Friday, a word count will be document for 20 points. If the 250 words are not accomplished the student has the weekend to make up the words lost. However, it is your responsibility to come up to me and show me the words gained so I can improve your weekly score. If words not made up the score stands or reverts to a zero.
DUE DATE: Friday, October 11th
After 4 weekly entries are accomplished, students will turn in their completed document to TURNITIN.doc.
AT this time it will be read and given a formal grade of (100 points). Based on the following criteria:
1. 25% word count
2. 25 % word choice* extra credit awarded if SAT vocabulary words are used and identified in red text.
3. 25% creativity and originality
4. 25% conventions: spelling, grammar, dialog if needed, punctuation.
Once the session is completed and we move to Session #2 students may continue with the same story line or begin a new one.
